Indieweb Carnival November 2024: Reflecting on Impact

thank you so much to foreverliketh.is for asking and encouraging my hosting the indieweb carnival this month! if you haven't heard of the indieweb carnival, you can see past months on the indieweb wiki. someone volunteers every month to host one on their own blog like i'm doing here.

essentially, the indieweb carnival encourages folks to post more on their blogs by providing a prompt. anyone and everyone is welcome to participate.

rules

  1. you can submit in english or any language you feel best comfortable in, but please keep it in a language that can be translated using translation tools online.
  2. you can submit any media: a blog post, a song, a webpage, or visual art. i just ask that you keep it on an independent or self-hosted platform like your own website (i.e. no walled gardens, please).
  3. be sure to email me to let me know that you've made a post for the carnival.
  4. the deadline is december 1, 2024, but if you miss this by a couple of days, just send it to me and i'll still post it in the roundup at the end of this post.

this month's topic

i'd love to see your blog posts, webpages, or other media about impact. i think reflecting on the impact we leave on the world, and what kind of legacy we will leave in our absence—dependent upon our actions, experiences, and perspectives—makes us think about what kind of people we want to be. to me, this kind of self-reflection can be a helpful examination to help us determine our future, process our past, and become more present and aware of our effect on others.
